Shelf Life: Best planted within 1 year for maximum germination.
Planting Instructions
Seed Preparation: Soak seeds in water for 24 hours before planting to improve germination.
Sowing:
Indoors: Start seeds 4-6 weeks before the last frost in seed-starting mix, 1 inch deep. Keep the soil moist and place in a warm location (70-75°F / 21-24°C).
Outdoors: After frost danger passes and soil warms to 60°F (15°C), sow seeds 1 inch deep, 3 feet apart in rows 3-4 feet apart.
Germination: Expect germination in 7-14 days with consistent moisture and warmth.
Transplanting:
Indoors to Outdoors: Transplant seedlings when they have 2-3 true leaves and after the last frost. Gradually expose seedlings to outdoor conditions for a week before transplanting.
Spacing: Space transplants 3 feet apart in rows 3-4 feet apart.
Care and Maintenance
Watering: Keep soil moist, especially in dry periods. Water at the base to avoid wetting foliage.
Mulching: Apply mulch to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and maintain temperature.
Support: Use stakes or trellises to keep plants upright and prevent fruits from touching the ground.
