Planting Instructions
Seed Preparation:
No special preparation needed; seeds can be sown directly.
Sowing:
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Use a seed tray filled with a well-draining seed starting mix. Lightly press the seeds onto the surface of the soil but do not cover them, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
Germination:
Place the seed tray in a location with temperatures between 65-70°F (18-21°C). Provide a light source, such as a grow light or a sunny window. Seeds should germinate within 10-14 days.
Transplanting:
Once seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves and the risk of frost has passed, they can be transplanted outdoors. Harden off seedlings by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions for a week before transplanting. Space plants 8-10 inches apart in the garden or containers.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Protect from strong winds and harsh sunlight, which can damage delicate flowers.
Happy Gardening!
