Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
No special preparation is required for the seeds. However, soaking them in lukewarm water for a few hours before planting can help soften the seed coat and promote faster germination.
Sowing:
Fill small pots or seed trays with a well-draining potting mix formulated for seed starting. Place 1-2 seeds on the soil surface of each pot, gently pressing them down but not covering them completely. Mist the soil lightly to settle the seeds in place.
Germination:
Maintain a consistent temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C) during the germination process. Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely. Germination typically occurs within 2-3 weeks, but it can vary depending on environmental conditions.
Transplanting:
Once the seedlings have developed several sets of true leaves and are sturdy enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots filled with a well-draining potting mix. Space the seedlings about 6-8 inches (15-20 cm) apart to allow for growth. Keep the newly transplanted seedlings in a shaded area initially to prevent wilting or sunburn.
Care and Maintenance:
Place the plants in a location with bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day. Water the plants regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Protect the plants from drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations, as they prefer stable conditions.
