Product Details:
Doronicum, also known as Leopard’s Bane, is a delightful perennial that brightens up any garden with its radiant, daisy-like yellow flowers. These seeds are perfect for gardeners looking to add long-lasting blooms that thrive in a variety of conditions. With a mature height of 12 to 24 inches, Doronicum is well-suited for borders, woodland gardens, and makes excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements.
Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
No special seed preparation is required. However, for improved germination, you can soak the seeds in warm water for 12-24 hours before planting.
Sowing:
Sow the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost date or directly outdoors after the danger of frost has passed.
For indoor sowing, use seed trays or pots filled with a well-draining seed starting mix. Scatter the seeds evenly and cover them with a thin layer of soil.
For outdoor sowing, prepare the soil by tilling it and removing any weeds. Scatter the seeds and cover them lightly with soil.
Germination:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination period.
Germination typically takes 14-21 days.
Provide a warm environment with temperatures between 60-70°F (15-21°C) for optimal germination.
Transplanting:
Once seedlings have developed two sets of true leaves and the outdoor temperatures have stabilized, they can be transplanted into the garden.
Space the plants 12-18 inches apart to allow for proper air circulation and growth.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during dry periods.
Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding.
Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
In colder regions, apply a layer of mulch or straw in late fall to protect the plants during the winter months.
Happy Gardening!
