Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
Soak seeds in warm water for a few hours to enhance germination.
Sowing:
Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Fill seed trays or small pots with seed-starting mix. Sprinkle seeds lightly on the surface and cover with a thin layer of soil (about 1/8 inch).
Germination:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Maintain a temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C). Seeds should germinate within 5-10 days.
Transplanting:
Once seedlings have at least two sets of true leaves and the danger of frost has passed, transplant them outdoors. Space plants 6-8 inches apart in a sunny location with well-drained soil. If planting in containers, ensure they have good drainage.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Pinch off the tips of the plants to encourage bushier growth and to delay flowering. Harvest leaves regularly to promote new growth, but avoid taking more than one-third of the plant at a time. Protect plants from cold temperatures and frost. Consider bringing potted plants indoors if necessary.
Happy gardening !
