Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
MOOLI MINOWASE seeds typically do not require any special preparation before planting.
Sowing:
Choose a sunny location in your garden with well-drained soil. Ensure the soil is loose and free from rocks and debris. Sow the seeds directly into the prepared soil. Plant the seeds about 1/2 inch deep and space them approximately 2 to 3 inches apart in rows spaced 12 to 18 inches apart. Cover the seeds lightly with soil and gently pat down the soil to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
Germination:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination period, which typically takes 5 to 10 days. Maintain even moisture by watering the soil lightly whenever it begins to dry out on the surface. Germination is faster in warmer soil temperatures, so consider using row covers or cloches to increase soil temperature if necessary.
Transplanting:
Thin out the seedlings once they have developed their first true leaves, leaving the strongest plants spaced 4 to 6 inches apart. If transplanting seedlings started indoors, wait until they have at least two sets of true leaves before transplanting them into the garden. Harden off the seedlings gradually before planting them outside.
Care and Maintenance:
Keep the soil consistently moist throughout the growing season. Water deeply and evenly to encourage healthy root development. Monitor the plants for signs of pests and diseases, such as aphids, flea beetles, and fungal diseases. Treat infestations promptly using organic or chemical controls as needed. Provide a layer of organic mulch around the plants to help retain soil moisture, suppress weeds, and maintain even soil temperatures. Harvest the radishes when they reach the desired size, typically 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Use a garden fork or trowel to gently loosen the soil around the roots before lifting them from the ground.
Happy gardening!
