Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
No special preparation is required. However, soaking seeds in lukewarm water for 2-4 hours before planting can help speed up germination.
Sowing:
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date, using seed-starting trays or pots filled with seed-starting mix. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 2 inches apart. Keep trays in a warm location (70-80°F or 21-27°C) with good air circulation and plenty of light. Alternatively, sow seeds directly outdoors after the last frost date when the soil has warmed to at least 65°F (18°C).
Germination:
Seeds typically germinate within 7-14 days, depending on soil temperature and conditions. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged during the germination period.
Transplanting:
Transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and seedlings have 3-4 true leaves. Space plants 18-24 inches apart in rows spaced 24-36 inches apart. Ensure plants receive full sun exposure for optimal growth and fruit production.
Care and Maintenance:
Watering: Water consistently to keep the soil evenly moist throughout the growing season, especially during hot, dry periods. Support: Stake or cage pepper plants to support heavy fruiting and prevent them from bending or breaking. Harvesting: Harvest peppers when they reach full size and color. Cut peppers from the plant using scissors or pruning shears to avoid damaging the plant.
