Shelf Life : Best planted within 1 year for maximum germination
Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
Stratify seeds by placing them in a moist medium (such as sand or vermiculite) and refrigerating at 4°C (39°F) for 10-12 weeks. This mimics winter conditions and promotes germination.
Sowing:
After stratification, sow the seeds in seed trays or pots filled with a well-draining seed-starting mix.
Sow seeds on the surface and lightly cover with a thin layer of soil or sand.
Water gently to moisten the soil.
Germination:
Place the seed trays or pots in a location with bright, indirect light and maintain a temperature of around 15-20°C (59-68°F).
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Germination can take several weeks to a few months.
Transplanting:
Once seedlings have developed a few true leaves and are large enough to handle, transplant them into individual pots or a prepared garden bed.
Space the seedlings 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) apart to allow for growth.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid overwatering.
Remove any weeds that may compete with the tulips for nutrients and water.
hygiene and using appropriate organic treatments if necessary.
In colder climates, mulch around the base of the plants in late fall to protect the bulbs over winter.
